Process Operator II

Location: South Windsor, CT 06074

Pay rate: $22/hr.- $25/hr.

Shift Schedule: Mon to Fri (1st 6am-1:30pm or 2nd 1pm-9:30 pm)

Duration: 12 months contract

Position Summary:

Entry level role that is working in a plant/factory. Performs a series of operations or tasks under close supervision, utilizing documented work processes.

Responsibilities:

• Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality.
• Check on equipment throughout shift to ensure equipment is working properly.
• Reads and clearly follows processes that are required.
• Contributes to division results and performance.
• Takes care of internal and external customer needs and expectations.
• Operate equipment specific to area such as: CARBON: Bag products, samples and test; Manage spent carbon feed to reactivation furnace; Switch tank feed from tank to tank of spent carbon; calibrate PH probes, operate a filter press, run facility waste water treatment plant.
• REGEN: Sort bottles by size and resin; load and unload deliveries to and from regional branch; Operates forklift to move bottles and materials through plant and load/unload trucks; evacuates bottles.

Knowledge & Experience Required:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3-5 years experience
• Must complete site specific safety training. Ability to communicate clearly to team members. Be able to follow and read instructions.
• Have basic math skills.
• CARBON: Be able to complete 40 hour hazardous waste operations training.
• Preferred: Some manufacturing/plant experience.
• Forklift driving.
• Knowledge of computers.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
• Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
• Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
• May work indoors and outdoors as needed.
• Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
• May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.
• May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
• Work surfaces may include concrete.
• Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
