The Substance Abuse Counselor, Clinical is primarily responsible for the provision of assessment, case management, continuing care and follow-up, crisis intervention, individual and group therapy, and family education for ADATC patients. The Substance Abuse Counselor, Clinical must have the ability to work independently and with the interdisciplinary treatment team.

Applicant must be licensed or licensed eligible. Management will consider a trainee (LCAS-A) if no fully qualified applicants apply.
LCAS-A considered upon review. Working knowledge of addiction, substance abuse counseling practice models; mental health policy and models of treatment; cultural diversity and its impact on treatment; and knowledge of mental health laws are considered requisite for this position.

Licensed as a Clinical Addictions Specialist - Associate (LCAS-A).
Trainee Rates:
0-6 months: $44,588.00
6-12 months: $46,372.00
12-18 months: $48,226.00
18-24 months: $50,155.00
Fully licensed/24 months: $52,000
JFK is a 68-bed inpatient treatment facility designed to meet the needs of adults with substance use disorders from the 44 westernmost counties in North Carolina. The facility treats individuals with substance abuse and psychiatric diagnoses. JFK is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations as a Behavioral Health facility and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as an inpatient psychiatric hospital.
